BASIC collection: essential equestrian clothing for every day

The BASIC collection is the HORSE Spirit riding wear you reach for in the morning without a second thought. It brings together riding tees, thermal tops, a tank top, zip-up sweatshirts, vests, hybrid, winter and neoprene jackets and a riding cap. Everything sits within a simple colour palette – black, white, beige, brown and burgundy – so the pieces mix and match freely.

It is made for riders who see their horses every day and want easy-care basics that never look dated.

What is in the BASIC range and how to choose

BASIC, LINE and PURE tees are cut from a breathable Italian fabric with plenty of stretch. Colours include black, beige, brown, burgundy, blue and pink. Thermal tops have long sleeves with thumbholes, a neck zip and a brushed inner side.

The riding sweatshirt has a full zip, stand-up collar and zip pockets, comes in black, beige and brown, and works on its own or under a jacket. For outer layers there are sport vests with a faux-fur trimmed hood, hybrid jackets with stretch sleeves, hooded winter jackets and neoprene jackets. An adjustable cotton cap and a gift voucher round it off.

Think about when you ride most: a tee or sleeveless riding top is enough for summer schooling, autumn calls for a sweatshirt or vest, and winter for a proper jacket.

How to build a riding outfit from BASIC pieces

The collection really comes into its own when you layer. Start with a fitted tee or thermal top, add the zip-up sweatshirt and finish with a vest or hybrid jacket. Warm up mid-lesson? Take one layer off and you still look put together.

Care tips to keep your basics looking good

Wash tees, thermal tops and sweatshirts gently at a low temperature, inside out and without fabric softener, which reduces breathability. Close the zips first so they do not snag the fabric. Quilted vests and jackets prefer a delicate cycle; let them dry naturally, then give them a light shake so the filling spreads evenly. Always follow the care label.

BASIC collection FAQ

How do I choose the right size? Women's pieces come in sizes XS–XL. Tees and thermal tops are close-fitting, whereas the black winter jacket has a looser cut for layering. Check your measurements against the size guide.
